Illusion: Connect Re is an anime real-time strategy idle gacha game that is a rerelease of a shut down game from a few years ago. I never played the original so I can’t make any comparisons but this game feels like it is a few years old.

The Graphics are not bad but confusing in there presentation . There seems to be a wide diversity in the quality and not an overall consistency to the style. Some of the adult characters are lewdly drawn while others are really plain. There is a lot of loli characters. More then I thought there would be. Most games usually have one or two but this one seems to have around half the characters as lolis.

Gameplay is pretty straight forward with putting out a character when you have the points to do it. It is based on a 3 by 3 grid. You start with your commander on the field and if they die you lose. Not much to it other then that. You start with 20 CP which allows you to get one character out at the beginning. There are lots of different features as well including an arena and a exploration zone. As expected of a mobile game it does have an autoplay mode.

You have a homebase that is destroyed in the opening of the game and you have to rebuild it. This is where the idle aspect comes into play. You dive into the dreaming to find furniture to rebuild with which you can then level up as you advance. The more furniture you have the more you gain per hour. You are limited on the type of furniture that you have and it is an eclectic collection. One of the bonuses to the homebase is you can assign your characters to move around it and interact with them.
The UI is a cluttered mess in my opinion. There is way to much covering the screen. Nearly two thirds of the screen is buttons for you to click to go to various pages. There is way to much to see here. Some of it appears to double up on things from other menus so i am not sure of the reasoning behind the additions to the screen.

One of their big advertisements is giving away 10000 free summons. Yes. 10000 free summons. But that is spread out at 10 a day for the next 1000 days. So around 3 years. The original game lasted 2. I am honestly not sure how I feel about that. Considering the game shut down before will it last that long?

Character Progression is easy to follow. Once you reach the initial max you need to farm some items to unlock the next threshold. And then repeat. I haven’t played it farther then the first few advancements so not sure if there is an additional progression style towards end game.

I am honestly unsure of the story. It tends to auto advance through some of the story faster then you can read it so I gave up on trying to follow it. All I can tell you is it involves dream worlds and you having to go into them.

Overall i would give this game a 6. It feels too dated and has to many issues to give a higher grade to. It went live on June 4, 2026, and is available for iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play stores.
