Dragon traveler is a fun and slightly addicting idle gacha game. It is anime themed and fairly lewd with fan service showing through on some character designs and within the gallery images you accumulate throughout but that does not detract from the game. The graphics are solidly within my personal preference so i do enjoy the style that the game is using. Even though it is fan servicy it does not go into degeneracy with it. Overall it is a very appealing style. I would give the graphics a solid 9.

Game Play is mostly automatic but you can do some selecting of special skills if you want to. You can set certain actions of the game like the main story or one of the dungeons to auto continue in the background while you work on other aspects of game play. As to the main game story you can select it to stop at main plot points or just to push through with out your input. The game play is mildly addicting as there is always something to be done to further your character advancement along. I would give the gameplay a 6 as it is just auto play but there is a fair bit of different styles going that adds to the score. There isn’t much to be said about the combat system as it is pretty much automatic but it does have a few different game modes that change how the combat works. There is the main dungeon and with that a few different combat scenarios one of which is a form of tower defense. Once you reach a certain point you even unlock a fairy retainer that you can set to do everything for you that you can auto progress through.
There is no moving your characters around the map yourself. They have certain events you can click on through a menu on the right side and your character is auto moved there. These include mostly collection items but a couple of puzzles like a 3 question quiz and match game. They even added a Pokémon style which character is this puzzle.

The UI is very straightforward and is easy to navigate from the beginning. More is added as you progress throughout the game but does not cause any congestion on the screen. I would give this a solid 8.

Character Progression is pretty easy to achieve in the beginning and has a twist once you reach level 100 with each class. Once one character has reached 100 and done a breakthrough ALL characters of that class level up to the new class leveling format. It doesn’t make the most sense for that to happen but it does help with trying out different characters which you will get a lot of as they are very generous with the pull system for the gacha aspect of the game. This is an easy 8 as leveling characters so far has been pretty straightforward and easy to achieve even though i haven’t progressed too far into the game i can see it being the same moving forward.

They are really generous with the currency for getting characters and artifacts making this game a real delight for free to play characters. Just progressing through the main story gets you a load of Diamonds every few stages. Their lifetime achievements are easy to get and plentiful so you always feel that dopamine hit with every game session.
The gacha aspect is very generous as well with a guaranteed SSR in every 40 pulls on the regular banner and in 50 pulls on the limited banners.

The one big drawback to the game is the story. It is a mix and match of various myths and stories, including Norse Mythology and Arthurian Lore, and it doesn’t pull it off very well. They even bring in Lord of the Rings as a reference. With it being a mishmash of stories and then with the auto aspect of the game it feels that the story is incomplete or that you are missing things as it moves along. This is where things get dicy with the score. It is not original at all so i would give this a 2. If it had a bit more originality to it would add dramatically to the overall presence of the game.

With that all being said I am only giving this a 6.5 rating. Would I recommend it. Yes. The only thing hurting it is the story. I am hoping that later chapters of the game bring more original thought to it.
